1. Choose one core question

Focus on one situation or theme, not your whole life story.

  • Good: “I feel guilty every time I say no to my sister. How do I work with that guilt?”

  • Too broad: “My whole life feels overwhelming, what do I do?”

2. Give a brief snapshot (3–6 sentences)
Share just enough so I can see the picture:

  • What happened? (What was said or done?)

  • Who’s involved? (First names or roles only.)

  • What’s the exact moment or pattern you want help with?

3. Let me know what it’s like inside
Tell me a little about your inner world:

  • Feelings (e.g. tight, scared, angry, numb)

  • Body sensations (e.g. knot in my stomach, chest pressure, buzzing in my head)

  • Repeating thoughts (e.g. “I’m selfish,” “I’ll be abandoned”)

4. Mention what you’ve already tried

If you’ve done anything—breath work, journaling, talking to someone, setting a boundary—include it so we don’t just repeat what you already know.

5. Say what you most want from the answer
For example:

  • Help understanding what’s really going on

  • A different way to respond next time

  • A simple practice you can use in the moment

Simple template you can copy

You can paste this in and fill in the blanks:

“Here’s what happened: …
Who’s involved: …
The part I keep struggling with is: …
Inside, it feels like: …
I’ve already tried: …
What I most want from your answer is: …”

A few quick notes

  • Please don’t include full names, addresses, or other identifying details.

  • Your question may inspire an answer that’s added (anonymously) to the Ask Al Answer Vault or shared anonymously so others can benefit too.

  • I can’t offer medical, legal, or financial advice—what I offer is perspective, guidance, and practices for your inner and relational world.

When you’re ready, take a breath and write as if you’re speaking directly to me. Clear and honest is enough.
