The Question

“I’ve been in my job for five years now… and I’m good at it. They value me, I’m competent. But there’s this thing inside that keeps saying ‘this isn’t it.’ And I don’t know what that means.

I’m scared. Scared of starting over, scared of losing what I’ve built. Scared I’ll make the wrong choice. But staying feels worse. It’s like there’s this pull, but I can’t tell if it’s real or if it’s just fear talking.

When I wake up, there’s this heaviness, and when I think about leaving, there’s dread. But when I think about staying, my chest gets tight. I’ve journaled, I’ve made lists, I’ve talked to friends about it… nothing quiets the fear enough for me to actually trust what I’m feeling.

So, I guess what I need to know is: How do I tell the difference? Is this pull real or is it just panic? And how do I trust myself enough to actually take a step?”
