The Question
Lately it feels like my whole inner world is made of energy I don’t understand. Some days there is a heavy, almost oppressive pressure in my chest, like a storm cloud of old emotion, and the smallest thing can set it off. Other days my body feels buzzy, wide open, and strangely sensitive to everything around me, other people’s moods, the news, even the atmosphere in a room, and it’s exhausting to be this porous.
I keep hearing people talk about the pain‑body and spiritual awakening, about old energies surfacing to be cleared, and part of me wonders if that’s what’s happening: if something deeper is trying to wake up in me by bringing all this to the surface. But another part of me is scared that I’m just dysregulated or burning out, and that I’m making it into a spiritual story because I don’t know what else to do with it.
So what I really need to know is: how do I tell the difference between an awakening of consciousness and a nervous system that’s simply overwhelmed? And in either case, how do I meet these intense waves of energy, this pain‑body, this sensitivity, in a way that actually helps them transform, instead of being swallowed by them or fighting them all the time?”
